Ninety minutes that undo a season.

Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology and hot stone — matched to what your body is actually carrying, not to a menu item you picked in a hurry.

Three questions and we'll name the massage that fits.

Question 1 of 3

What are you bringing in with you?

What is massage therapy?

Massage therapy is hands-on treatment of muscle and connective tissue by a licensed therapist, used to ease pain and tension, restore range of motion, and bring the nervous system down out of a stress state. At The Spa Ligonier every session opens with an intake — where it hurts, what you do all day, what you want to be able to do again — and the technique and pressure are chosen from that, not from the name of the service you clicked. Sessions run 60, 90 or 120 minutes.

Swedish & relaxation

Gentle, flowing pressure to melt stress and calm the nervous system.

Deep tissue & recovery

Focused work on tight, overworked muscles, knots, and trigger points.

Targeted relief

Hot stone, reflexology, and neck, shoulder, and back-focused sessions.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I book a massage?

Most guests come every two to four weeks. If you are working through a specific injury or a chronic pattern, your therapist may suggest a tighter run of sessions first, then a maintenance rhythm.

Should I book 60, 90 or 120 minutes?

Sixty minutes covers one region well — a back, neck and shoulders, say. Ninety lets the therapist treat that region properly and still cover the rest of the body. Two hours is for full-body work without rushing any of it.

Does deep tissue have to hurt?

No. Effective deep work sits at the edge of comfortable, not past it. Tell your therapist during the session and the pressure changes immediately — the pressure is yours to set.

Can massage help my headaches?

Often, when the headaches come from neck, jaw and shoulder tension. Craniosacral therapy and focused neck and shoulder work are the two we reach for most.

What do I wear, and what happens in the room?

You undress to your comfort level and are draped with sheets throughout; only the area being worked on is uncovered. For Thai Yoga Massage you stay fully clothed on a mat.

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

Yes, with a therapist trained for it. Book the Maternity Massage so we set the room up side-lying and bolstered and adjust the pressure and areas worked.

What should I do afterwards?

Drink water, and keep the rest of the day gentle where you can. Some tenderness the next day after deep work is normal and passes.

Do you take gift certificates?

Yes. Gift certificates are bought online for any amount and redeem against any massage.
